Lovely afternoon biking throughout the countryside with our charming and knowledgeable guide Emiel. He took great care of us as we rode by windmills, cows and sheet on a beautiful spring afternoon. We stopped for a beer/cafe and finished our tour with a little history of Bruges. Perfect way to spend the afternoon!

The Quasimodo Flanders Fields tour begins in an ordinary way; a bus filled mostly with middle aged people, fields and gas stations and large nondescript farms pass by. I found my self wondering if this experience wouldn't amount to much, since ordinary modern life seemed to have erased all impact of the WW1. Then, almost imperceptibly the reality of the... More

This tour is a must for anyone who wants to know a bit more about recent history, if only so we not repeat it. Phil, our guide, explained the run up to WW I in about 6 paragraphs, an impressive feat! I've read several books on the subject, only to get bogged down in the alliances, side deals, intrigue. It's... More

My hubby and I went on this tour last week. Phillepe was our bus driver and tour guide for the day. He was excellent and the tour itself was mind blowing. He even had carrots for the donkey!! It was hard to imagine the brutality that occurred here from 1914 to 1918. The loss of life or limb at such... More

We visited Bruges for a few days, one of our main reasons for choosing Bruges was for the history of WW1 and the battlefields of Flanders. We had prebooked the tour before we travelled which was a very easy process we got confirmation straight away. We were picked up from our hotel and on the day we were the only... More

We were staying in Bruges for a few days and intended to tour the battlefields around Ypres independently. However we saw the flyer for Quasimodo tours in the tourist information office and we are very glad we decided to take their tour rather than doing it ourselves. We were picked up on time and had a very enjoyable and informative... More

Visited Bruges for a few days and wanted to visit the war graves. Our hotel recommended Quasimodo tours for an organised trip to Flanders fields. We were not disappointed. The trip was very well organised. We were a party of four adults and were picked up from the hotel by taxi to be taken to a meeting point to get... More

I went on a Quasimodo tour of Flanders battlefields last month. The tour was excellent, Phillipe's knowledge of WW1 was exemplary and he provide so much information that would probably not be found in the history books, I would greatly recommend going on one of Quasimodo's tours I came away with a much greater unspderstanding of WW1 and of what... Went on the battlefield tour with my wife and seventeen year old daughter. From the prepaid taxi pickup at our hotel to the central Bruges dropoff at the end, the tour ran like clockwork. Our guide Philipe is a lifetime local and a wealth of knowledge. He held the groups attention the entire nine hour tour. The stops were plentiful... More

This was by far the most impressive guided tour I have ever signed up for! Philippe's in-depth knowledge and passion of the WW1 events clubbed with an articulate presentation style reminisces one of being glued to the Discovery Channel for hours as a schoolboy. Should the opportunity arise, I would have no one but Philippe accompany me to discover the... More
