Overview
More
The historic center of Bruges has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 thanks to its status as one of the commercial and cultural capitals of Europe and its enduring Gothic architecture. The Belgian city center is cited as a great example of a medieval historic settlement, even while it has evolved over the years.

Loved this place. Just sit at some outside cafe and gaze at the various historic buildings all around.. Every building has a story to tell. Beautiful is a small word for this place. Quite extravagant.

The square is surrounded by historic buildings and restaurants. As so ofetn found it is perhaps better to select a restaurant just away from the main centre and plenty abound

We visited with some friends and had a tour guide take us there who told us some history about the place. I can remember having very good waffles there. Really nice trip

Beautiful square but can be quite crowded. Get there early (before 10 AM) or later (after 5 PM) to avoid the tour buses.

Storybook setting. Peaceful (usually) despite tourists. We took the train from Brussels which is an easy way to get there. A worthwhile side trip for a day or two. It may turn out to be your favorite place in Belgium...it certainly is mine.

You need to go Brussels South station (the same one as the Euro train). There are usually about 2 trains an hour but none of them are directly to Bruges. We took the Ostend train traveling to Bruges and the Brussels train... More

Hi! The Hotel name is Ibis Brugge Centrum. It is a part of the ACCOR Hotel group and you can book using their website. Do not confuse this hotel with another Ibis Hotel which is next to Brugge train station. Enjoy!
