The 115 metres high brick tower of the Church of Our Lady is a perfect illustration of the craftsmanship of Bruges' artisans. The church displays a valuable art collection: Michelangelo's world-famous Madonna and Child, countless paintings, 13th-century painted sepulchres and the tombs of Mary of Burgundy and Charles the Bold.

the outside of the church was obscured by scaffolding as they are doing lots of restoration work. The inside was also in need of a lot of attention and was being worked on. None of this could detract from the beautiful Michelangelo statue which was mesmerising. Thoroughly worth a visit.

Lovely place to visit, lots to see within the place, very peaceful. We were there on a Tuesday just after lunch and it was really quiet.

Some renovations currently taking place in the church, but certainly one of the highlights not to miss is the "Bruges Madonna" by Michelangelo, as well as Flemish Renaissance paintings. A bit more information about the artwork would be appreciated, but I imagine once the restoration and renovation is complete a visit to the church will be more fulfilling.

Housing the only known sculpture by Michelangelo outside Italy of the Madonna and child, it is well worth a visit. There is a fee to enter and there are a number of large paintings to look at also.

We enjoyed our visit here. You don't need very long - approx 30-40 minutes - but it's worth a visit. The current entry fee is €4 per adult (February 2017) which is reasonable. The best bit is the white marble sculpture of the Madonna and Child by Michelangelo - it's worth paying the entry fee just for that. We sat... More

Beautiful sculpture and different from other portrayals of Mary and jesus, this masterpiece is the main attraction of an otherwise simple church "church of our lady".

The huge Church of our Lady - which is what the Dutch says - has the only Michaelangelo statue outside Italy - I think. The Modonna a child are in front of you behind the altar whether you have come to pray or to look. Unfortunately, as so often, at present, there are restoration works here too and there is... More

This church was interesting to visit especially to see the statue made by Michelangelo. I also liked a lot of the other icons, decorations, paintings and sightings in the church. Worth a visit.
