I love church architecture and this quirky place of worship did not disappoint. It is the story of the church that is the most interesting though (the church is privately owned). There is a small room behind the altar that felt a little intrusive to visit but beyond that the place was very interesting. There is also a small honesty... More

This tour is not on the museum pass and costs 7 euro. Many people will be disappointed unless they love history, churches and the idea of visiting a 15th century facility still in possession of the original family. Not a lot here - the video is nice and inside the church is spectacular, but the rest of the facility is... More

Very interesting history of Bruges and the trade routes in the museum, and the chapel is intriguing, and owned by the same family since building. Excellent lady on reception who also gave us a lot more background info. Is closed Sundays.

We were caught up in Storm Doris and took shelter in a little archway which turned out to be the entrance to the Adornes Museum and Jerusalem Chapel. It's absolutely amazing. We loved the history of the place, and the woman working at the ticket desk was very kind and let my husband and I in for the lower price... More

This church is worth a visit. We were in Bruges for the Weekend, and decided to have a look at this church on the Saturday afternoon, mainly because it was a bit further out of the city centre and as the weather was beautiful it was perfect to walk to. As it is a bit further out, there weren't as... More

.. than the usual church fare to be honest. We had to look twice at the outside to make sure that it was a Christian church as the crosses were so ornate and similar to Jewish ones. Anyhow, situated in a quiet part of Bruges, this church has some very interesting medieval items with one of the highlights an altar... More

Really worth a visit, never seen anything quite like it. Off the tourist trail, but only a short walk from the city centre.

The Jerusalem chapel is the highlight of Adornes' domain. The Adornes were a rich and influential family in Brugge. Anselm Adornes mends the ties of Brugge to Scotland. He goes on a journey to the Holy Land. On a second diplomatic mission in Scotland he gets murdered. His heart is buried in the Jerusalem chapel, beside his wife. This chapel... More

This is a family chapel that is supposed to be a copy of the Holy Sepulchre church in Jerusalem, built after one of the family members went on a pelgrimage to Jerusalem. The resemblance is somewhat shaky, but the church is worthwhile a visit. The outside looks a bit oriental, and inside there is a "copy" of the grave of... More

A quick look at a medieval courtyard and a spectacular little chapel. Worth the visit to see this little treasure and learn about one prominent medieval Brugge family. Pleasantly surprised by the beauty and great condition of the chapel. Highly recommended.
