Whilst I am no music expert, I would say the sound was wonderfully clear and the intricate sounds came through. Outside the concert hall itself the archives have managed to make concrete look great. There is a token (Jeton) system for interval drinks where you...More

We walked here from our hotel during mid morning in an effort to secure tickets for that evenings performance. The program was be by Collegium 1704. This group of singers and musicians perform with only songs and instruments, materials available before 1704. And what a...More

Fabulous meal and friendly staff. Quick to serve good selection of food. Clean restaurant toilets could do with upgrade but clean. Flemish stew and vegetarian lasagne both well worth trying. We both ate three course meals and had 2 alcoholic drinks. €69 plus tip.

We saw a performance of the Magic Flute from poor seats (because they were the best we could get on-line 2 months before the performance. The acoustics were excellent, but the decor is cold and stark. Bare concrete walls would benefit from pictures or at...More

I went there to see MountOlympus of Jan Fabre. It was mindwarping! Turned out to be the Jan Fabre month in Het Concertgebouw so I could slam my head I didn't know! The building is a masterpiece of sound technique: completely sound proof to the...More

Ticketing staff were very efficient and friendly (and of course multilingual) Wonderful acoustics (I attended Musica Antiqua) for the recitals/competition. I particularly liked the Chamber Music hall in its simplicity.

Called in here to use the tourist information, it was busy in there & the people working there were helpful and friendly. It looks out of place as its so modern among this medieval city.

A world Heritage city with a modern red cube in the corner. This is the concert hall with tourist infomation on the ground floor, The Sound Factory on the top floor, the Lantern Tower is illuminated at night and concerts throughout the year.

We were delighted to be able to attend a concert here. We were not certain at first when we saw all the concrete however the auditorium was amazing. Spacious leg room and excellent views. The acoustics are wonderful. We could hear triple piano no problem!...More

What is the dress code for an evening concert please? Would jeans and a nice shirt work? It is it slightly more formal here? Thanks.

A jacket with the jeans would be great, no tennis shoes I would imagine. Dress more formally as to type of music your concert entails. Jazz, rock or classical, all would seem to indicate a look. Currently in LA, people... More
