It's a beautiful, gothic style building, reconstructed after WWI. It is open for church services and actually does not operate as an attraction-museum. If you find it open have a look inside and ask whether it is possible to go up to the belfry in order to see the view. If not, unfortunately you will have just to admire its... More

In Europe you will see a lot of churches. This one is spectacular and highly recommended, even if you aren't the church going type. The building is stunning!

a beautiful and atmospheric church. It was totally destroyed in WW1, but looking at it now, you would never know it, apart from one or two pieces of damage, it waqs built back stone by stone to its former glory. I love the Bust of St Nicholas, gilded and looking very cheery.

It has been rebuilt as it was after the locals decided to rebuild their town. It is now a practicing church - but visitors are welcome and a donation is requested for its upkeep. A lovely... More

This church was destroyed during the bombing of the WW1 but all the rubble covered the doors so they were able to be reused again in the re construction.

Located right in town, a great example of architecture and the rebuild post WW1. Well light, spend some time to see.

Just around the corner from the In Flanders Field Museum, it's an easy stop & a beautiful one! Admission is a requested 50 cents donation, but it is still an active church, so it's for a good cause!
