I had high hopes for Bon Echo. I really did. We camp a lot and book as soon as we are able, usually January. It is a 3.5 hour drive for us. We have a 32 ft. trailer. Somewhat surly staff at gate, but OK,...More

Yes it was a great park. The campground was well laid out, well signed and facilities were good. So what were the bad points you ask.... Well, site maintenance was just not good. Showers were not that clean, site firepits were over flowing, trash bins...More

We went up this past Victoria Day weekend and it was a beautiful park. However, there were so many mosquitoes we had to go to a small shop called The Maz (who are amazing people, so kind) and grab another bottle. Make sure you are...More

Been to Bon Echo four times. It's takes approx 3.5 hrs for us to drive there and it's worth it! So much to do for the kids and adults. Never a dull moment. Watch out for the black flies in June. They are deadly!

Me and my friends camped on the camping grounds of Bon Echo for like 3 days and canoed every single day! The day rates are so cheap ($30 for a canoe for the day!) and we went to the islands and docked at random places...More

Bon Echo is very serene with a small sandy beach. To hike the trails you have to ride a small ferry ($) across the river. It was a hike with uneven trails and a bit of a climb initially..Several flights of steps. The scenery is...More

Visited the park from Toronto over the Labor Day long weekend this year and had a blast. The park is well worth the drive (about 3 hours + traffic) from the city. I went with a party of 6 (including myself) and stayed two nights....More

First time at Bon Echo Park. We only had one night to spend there as we were traveling. Reservations are highly recommended, particularly for weekends. The sites are generous in size and fairly private. There are modern, exceptionally clean washrooms/shower facilities throughout the campground. Our...More

Hello, my boyfriend and I are hoping to visit Ontario in the summer, we're looking to experience the whole hiking/kayaking and general outdoors of canada for a few days. We did have Algonquin NP and Bruce Peninisula in mind but accommodation there appears to be very expensive. So just wondering what this is to do in Bon Echo?

I have never done it myself, but I have been going to Bon Echo since I was a kid, and I know they have kayak rentals and paddle boats. There's lots of good hiking there as well, but you can't be afraid of the deer... More

Hi, What site /location did you stay at? It seems some of the locations are far from activities and beach...We prefer to use the car as little as possible. Hike, bike?, canoe, swim...a view of the water would be lovely.
