Great stop over from the airport or even a few days. Visit the shopping centre. Its great and at Christmas time the decorations are delightful. Many attractions in the old city. Well worth an extended visit. Drinks at sombrero on the way to the railway...More

Cobbled streets , storks nesting on top of the churches , very photogenic. Nice walk through the walled town of Faro. Lots of cafes and little shops nearby.

Highly recommended. Lovely cobble stones. Beautiful arches. I had cataplana for the first time at a small afro-portuguese restuarant (a bit overpriced but nice food).

Old Town in very little but it keeps its atmosphere. It's mainly old Cathedral, fortress wall and several buildings. I'd advised local authorities to fix the wall and make it accessible for tourists to walk on the top as in Girona for example.

Hi, we mainly used the tourist train. Covers 4 main stops and wasn't too bad price wise. Sometimes the queues were long and at busy times you couldn't always get on the train but it comes back around 15 mins later. Stops... More

Most of the high quality restaurants we were in asked for dietary issues to be advised to staff so presumably would ensure you were catered for.

If your staying near the shopping centre in Albufeira you can take the local bus from outside but in the middle section of the road. Faro is wonderful but go to the tourist office and get directions to the old historic part... More
