We have seen many of the beaches along the Algarve since we have been here and Meia Praia is my favorite. A couple of reasons. I loved the views from the beach. To the east you can see Alvor and Carvoiero in the distance. To the west is Lagos. I also liked the length of the beach so it is... More

Meia Praia is a great beach. But don't go there if there is wind. As you can find much better alternatives.

This is one of the best, longest beaches, we have been to. If offers lot of space and never gets too crammed with people. Also have 10 great beach bars which is a most while here.

Really nice big beach with good access from lagos 5 mins no 2 bus or 4 mins by train on the Faro line not a lot of commercial property in the way of restaurants etc but great for a day out thoroughly enjoyable safe beach for families also plenty of parking

If you like nature and rolling waves this is the place for you. Lots of walking opportunities and plenty of sand for the children. Can be a bit windy but it has a rugged beauty.

Absolutely great beach with fantastic sand! It's also surprisingly quiet, you would even say it's not even in Lagos.

5 km of white sand allow you to be alone in the summer. Great for kids (always under supervision) because is very, very shallow. Try it in the morning because it may get windy in the afternoon.

Meia Praia beach is one kf the best on the Algarve. Golden sands washed by the Atlantic. Safe bathing and plenty for the family during the summer. In the winter months the whole beach is for walking the full length. We walk it everyday.

Came here in September 2014. Nice city beach, close to the eastern side of Lagos. Waters are quite clear, calmer if you get closer to the marina. The beach was empty of people so nice to enjoy. Water is a bit cold but warmer than the rest of Portugal (out of the Algarve).

Been coming to the Algarve for years and this is still one of our favourite beaches. Huge long flat beach, not particularly commercial, there are some nice restaurants but they are on the back of the beach and not intrusive, lovely places to sit and people watch or just take in the view. Great beach for walking as we did... More
