Not for golfers - more like a below average course tacked onto a hotel. Poor greens, rough fairways, 100 Euro meant to be in season but course not ready. No service. Never to return. Tired course may have been good in its day but now you have proper courses like Faldo and OConnor nearby go there for less cost on... More

A wonderful hotel and golf resort. Courses are in a wonderful condition, pools are plentiful and the temperature was so very nice and hot. If you decide to take on the golf course, probably best to get a buggie. I walked around on both occasions and found the going a little tough by the time I reached the halfway point,... More

We played golf here and were disappointed with both the golf course and the pre-round coffees and service. W had super service elsewhere but here we got lukewarm tasteless coffee and the waiter forgot the hot milk - by the time he brought it, the coffee was cold. The course is scruffy and the greens poor - overplayed, perhaps? This... More

I am a member here so may be bias. No trip to the Algarve should be made to play golf without a visit. Eleven times host of the Portuguese Open it is a typical English parkland course. An early tee time is best to avoid 5 hour rounds, although the Rangers do try and keep things moving. Superb greens, a... More

The course is a very good challenge from low-high handicappers. The majority of holes have an element of water on them from small narrow hazard running along or across the fairway to ponds in front of a number of greens. The course is heavily watered during the winter months and is playing its full yardage. The greens are in excellent... More

Whilst it is a reasonably easy walking course it is a test of golfing skills due to the number of ditches and dog legs etc. The Pro Shop staff are friendly and efficient. The club house food is quite pricey. For those with a smaller appetite a shared portion is more than adequate.

Designed by the famous Henry Cotton, this is one of the oldest and best regarded courses. The Hotel is also a classic old world Building encompassing a formal dining room, a bar and terrace, where lunch is served. All the classic dishes on offer, certainly not any avante garde cuisine, The hotel offers every amenity and very good Service. Wet... More

We arrived to play the historic golf course on Friday to be met by two clearly disgruntled employees. No welcome or general interest was made as to where we had travelled from and when we were playing. On asking for the hire clubs booked in advance there was the blank stare and shrug of the shoulders! The golf course is... More

Lovely course in a nice setting with the magnificent Penina Hotel alongside, where you can get drinks and snacks after your game, albeit at a price! But it is a lovely place to sit out on the patio. The golf course is a great layout, with some lovely holes, but a shame that it all feels a little bit dated... More

We played the Championship course yesterday and we were amazed that the course condition was so poor. The layout is good, but the greens, fairways and surrounds are in serious decline . It was a very good course many years ago but not now , not worthy of the prices they charge , the Pestana courses are in much better condition... More
