Very good little museum, minimal entry fee and very interesting exhibits. Highlight for us was the 1970 documentary on whaling on the island, very armospheric. Some caution needed for sensitive (vegetarian) children.

Very interesting visit, also in combination with the other museum, so that you get the full picture about whaling in Azores.

The island of Pico was quite poor until recently- and jobs are still scarce. Step back in time to 1970 documentary about whaling

Outstanding collection of whaling equipment used as recently as the early 1980s. Great videos to watch about the art of whaling

This was a nice place to visit to understand the significance of whaling during the history of Azores, especially the island of pico. Good collection of artifacts. Nice place to be if the weather is not favorable outside.

very modern exhibits, extremely interestingly presented; you can get to know the past habits of the inhabitants of the time of whale hunting
