Super interesting place where you can explore lava tubes! We took the short trip and it was very reasonable priced (2,5€ for students! ) yet very interesting and the lava formations were beautiful. Also our guide was extremely nice and enthusiastic!

It is damp in the caves and the ground surface is very uneven in places as the lava has left rugged and quite spikey areas. As long as your footwear is strong enough to protect your feet and the soles are non slip and thick... More

speleological tour varies on the number of people, 4 people max. on the expedition. it is best to contact the grota directly for more information

Does anyone know how to get to Gruta do Carvao? I rented a car. I tried to find it on Google map but it doesn't look like it's the correct place.
