Been here on the way to Sete Cidades. It was in the morning around 9am. The atmosphere was eerie the lake was surrounded by a thick fog. Good for a few picture.

We were totally surprised by how lovely this area is! We parked outside the gate, along the road and walked to the lakes along a gravel road (only about 10 min to the lakes) and arrived at the lakes with no one else there, it...More

You need some good legs to get here, and must be careful with the slippery ground. it's like a mirror and you see the trees reflected all around.

The most beautiful natural wonders to be seen on the island of São Miguel. It is near the 7 cities and access is easy. Should take a day with little fog to enjoyed the local maximum.

Got to see the fish in the lake and stuck my hand in the moss. The walk down showed some stunning forestry and really liked that it was secluded.

My husband used to come here for family picnics as a child. Very beautiful national park now and well worth the visit.

Went here early in the morning, I was the only one on the property. Beautiful place, very quiet. You can walk around the lakes. Or use your car (but that takes out much of the zen).

We will be here just one day on a cruise. Where should we Go? We are thinking of hiring a taxi for the day. Is that feasible?
