We loved the library and chapel and thought the "palace" was nice enough. The balcony offers superb views.

Modern architecture as compared to the older grey stone buildings on campus. The campus was easy to walk around. There were various snack bars around the campus and several buildings... More

this is an university from 1290, which makes it one of the oldest in the world. I thought it was very interesting and worth visiting it. The architecture is very inspiring, and if you listen to their traditions and stories it makes it special.

Nice view from the courtyard, good to see some old classrooms, but the three highlights were: The chapel with its baroque organ, the ceremonial hall and the real jewel being the Joanina library

It's a city where one can sightseeing the beauty of the city surrounded by the river Mondego. A city where old and modern walk alongside. A city with one can find souveniers almost everywhere. Many green spaces to enjoy the cool of hot days. A city with the oldesd Portuguse University, each can be visited.

Such a thrill to visit this old University. Seeing the students in their black gowns is like being on a Harry Potter set.

went here as part of the Cosmos Tour. Just saw their magnificent courtyard and the outside. Those students must have a great ambience to study.
