The monastery is quite big and in good condition. Walking it's hallways, garden and church one finds oneself wondering about the munks who may have lived here. You can almost hear them shuffling and chanting down the corridor. We spend 1 1/2 hours there taking...More

This set our standard for monasteries and cloisters in Portugal. When we went to the Jeronimos Monastery in Lisbon, we were disappointed after being in Batalha. What made it special for us was attending Sunday mass there and seeing it in use as it was...More

It is worth a visit, especially if you like the gothic style. Some parts of the church remained uncompleted, but are still monumental. The monastery is quite big, so you can find a less busy place to rest there. I liked walking in the gothic...More

The outside of the monastery is exquisite, it really takes your breath away and captures your imagination. Inside gives a good example of what the inside of the cloister looks like. But not all the areas appear accessible and there isn't a lot of it...More

We spent about an hour walking around the outside and inside. We used the included audio guide to help understand the various parts of the building. Since it is not finished, looking at it from outside, it has an unusual skyline.

Totally unexpected find - one of the most beautiful cathedrals, it is hidden away in the small village. Serene and graceful, it is breath taking

Wonderful architecture, beautifully kept, really worth the trip to Batalha, especially if you combine it with Fatima nearby

If you love the setting of the magical school in Harry Potter movie, you will love this gorgeous 14th century Gothic architecture. During our visit, there was a group of students leaded by a guide dressed in HP's costumes. The building is well maintained. Unlike...More

If we buy the combi ticket for the 3 places, can we visit each place on different dates, ie would the same ticket be valid to visit each place on separate different dates? We do not intend to visit the three of them together.
