Located in the Gothic masterpiece of Santa Maria da Vitória Monastery, a special visit should be made to this chapel with its magnificent stained-glass windows, cloisters, Unfinished Chapel and the tombs of several Portuguese notables.

Lovely old monastery with tombs of several kings and queens, lovely building well preserved and offers a audio guide worth renting. Been here twice and never get tired visiting. Look for the stonemasons marks on the floor tiles, these people were proud of their work...More

Huge building in the center of town. Lovely architecture and modest main chapel make for a pretty sight. We stopped during a road trip to have a look and some coffee at one of the cafes nearby.

There are actually 2 locations to visit that would tell the whole story of this amazing monastery. One of course is the monastery itself. The flow of the sculpture and amazing flourish of details in stone is jaw dropping. The other is the place of...More

An impressive building visible from far away. Close up it's even better. The architecture is fantastic - as is the history of the place! The whole family enjoyed the visit and found it as no surprise that it's on the UNESCO list.

Must see in Portugal. Came on pilgrimage and saw this as one of the sites. Very close to a hotel that is nearby that has great amenities and a very friendly staff.
