This Oceanarium is very well done - lots to easy and easy to access from public transport. The exhibits are beautifully designed and set up well for easy viewing. Well located along the waterfront, there are green areas around the buildings perfect for pics and a bit of shade on a sunny day. The boardwalk is perfect for a stroll... More

You can see some of the big fishes of the ocean. I expected to find deeper water fishes, but I didn't, except maybe mola-mola.

Many friends told us to visit it and indeed, it was a great idea. Thanks to its central position, you can enjoy the main "aquarium" from all angles . A "must do" for a family with kids.

I put the Oceanarium at the top of our "must-see" list for Lisbon based on TripAdvisor reviews and the fact that my daughter loves our local Seattle aquarium. What we liked: - Large tank in the center of the building has lots of species (sharks, rays, etc) - Pretty friendly staff, especially considering we were there on a weekend What... More

We pre-booked our tickets so we went straight in. The range of aquatic life we saw was amazing. You walk around the outside of huge tank where there are countless numbers of different fish. There are also puffins, penguins and sea otters.

Really well laid out with the views on different levels giving different perspectives of the amazing variety of fish etc. Liked the way the side displays fitted into the main tank and took you through the different oceans of the world

I had heard a lot about this place but it surpassed my expectations. Stunning views of the fish in the main aquarium which you can view at two levels and from many different angles. Plenty of other tanks as well. Never seen otters so close before and they looked like they were happy to show off as much as possible.... More

I really enjoyed our trip to the oceanarium. The location is a bit out of the way, but in a nice area with lots of good restaurants and the telecabine cable car. The main tank is amazing, filled with sharks, stingrays and exotic fish. There are lots of separate tanks with different creatures in like jellyfish, sea dragons etc. There... More

This really is worth a visit if you have kids and need to entertain them for a morning or afternoon. I thought it was rather expensive (nearly 35 euros for 3 of us) but once you're in it really is very good value. We were there in time to see them feeding the penguins and the sea otters which was... Staying in Parque das Nacoes

Neighbourhood Profile
Parque das Nacoes
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.
