I had a great time wandering in and out of streets and getting lost. This is a wonderfully interesting neighborhood with lots to see and lots of places to eat.

You will definitely end up here as it is the heart of the tourist part of town. Some gorgeous architecture, lots of good food, lots of lovely squares, a good place for a stroll. Some high-end shopping.

A very nice place to spend some time with your family or friends, walking through the streets, glancing at the beautiful shops or stoping to have a nice cup of coffee or a snack at one of the Cafées you can find at Chiado

Such a beautiful square in the heart of Old Lisbon. The feeling of old Europe abounds here. We were lucky to have chosen a hotel overlooking the area. ( picked it based on TripAdvisor reviews). Be sure to stroll thru the area.

There are a number of restaurants and brand name shops here. If you want to step away from endless winging roads with little on them and return to a modern city big street then this is the place.

Great neighborhood, fun restaurants, always alive! We ate there, and even when it was raining, we saw people walking and enjoying themselves.

Take the ferry across the river to Chiado. Its worth the visit and what a great view of Lisbon from that side of the river. There are some great resturants and attractions to see

Shops and cafes made for a charming visit - must note there are lots of hills to climb - cobbled streets and pavements make it difficult - so have proper walking shoes.

A historic and beautiful old palace turned into trendy and spectacular small restaurants and bars. Have drinks in one setting and light meals at another while gazing at paintings, murals and history. A lovely place at surprisingly reasonable prices!

Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally,
"squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers
plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can
stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its
streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and
viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the
famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa,
having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used

I'm not aware of such app that only shows where locals eat, however, one that the locals do use is Zomato . PT This shows a range of restaurantes to eat from and as a guide, look at the reviews in Portuguese and then... More

Yes they are, however like everywhere in the world "influenced by fast food chains" with a bit of local taste. as Portuguese i suggest you to go to Terreiro do Paço or Alfama areas to really enjoy Portuguese culture.
