Walking tour around Lisbon citycenter with Catarine guide was really fun and informative. For us Brazilians, is one of the best ways to realize how close both cultures are and how influenced we've been.

Went on two tours : Revelation tour and Old town tour. Both were good , but the Revelation Tour was fantastic . The tour guide Jose Antunes was very knowledgeable , entusiastick , made it all fun.We spend 4 hours instead of 3 , went up and down Lisbon, I would highly recommend it!

We took the Lisbon - City of Spies tour with Jose...and it was just great. He was extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter and clearly passionate about it. Gave us a new look at the city...thoroughly enjoyable.

We really enjoyed the Revelations Tour we did with Miguel. He certainly knows his Portuguese history and the town of Lisbon itself. It was an easy three hours of information that flew by quickly. Our guide also gave us tips and information on restaurants to try and other areas to go and explore. This was a very professionally run tour,... More

This tour offers a wonderful introduction to the city of Lisbon. We started in the Placa do Comercio, and ventured to Rossio, Baixa, Chiado, and Barrio Alto. Se, the tour guide, speaks excellent English. He is friendly, knowledgeable, well organized, and has a great sense of humor. He answered our questions thoughtfully, and thanks to him, we managed to avoid... More

Took the City of Spies tour with Joanna yesterday and I have to say that it was the worst tour I have ever been on. The first prerequisite for a tour guide must be a good speaking voice and a good grasp of English - that is if the tour is in English. This was not the case! She was... More

We took the City of Spies walking tour and it was a really interesting two hours spent wandering around Lisbon. Our guide was super friendly and really knowledgeable and I thought she told the stories in a way which was engaging rather than just reeling off facts. We were all treated to a drink too which was a nice touch.... More

We enjoyed our walk with the Lisbon Walker. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and very knowledgeable , I believe his name was Se (pronounced Say). This walk is the perfect thing to do on your first day in Lisbon to get your orientation. Very reasonable price.

Toured with Joanna on Revelation Tour. The other scheduled tour was cancelled on the morning so everyone had to join this one. Unfortunately the tour ended promptly at 1pm which meant the tram ride and final destination of Alfama were left by the wayside. Disappointing as you pay to receive what was advertised on the itinerary. Would love to hear... More

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
