We went to this shop on the recommendation of our local tour guide. It is the oldest candle shop in the world (operating since 1789). You have to look closely for the entrance. It is a small shop and hard to find...but worth it. They do not speak English and do not accept credit cards, but we got along just... More

This is a tiny ancient looking candle shop which you could easily miss walking by. The shop has been on this site making candles since the 1700s. Ask the staff to see the tray of samples so that you can smell the candles before choosing the size you want. They also do fancy gift candles that can be engraved but... More

We love candle...but this shop is not a candle shop...its a history shop..operating since 1789 by the same family....they also have Honey Candles ...not all candles are perfumed but all candles are of very good quality...I bought 5 candles and they are of very fine quality...This shop along with Saat Anna Ceramic shop are the oldest shops in Lisbon (... I stayed on the same street as this candle shop, and kept passing by all the beautiful Easter-themed candles in the window (chickens, roosters, and ornate eggs). When I finally went inside, though, I was blown away.
