Hail Hail The Celts were here!

We visited this iconic Football ground on a day trip from our cruise ship. I left the ship with a Celtic emblem on my t/shirt and was pounced on by Taxi drivers 130 Euros for trip... read more

Was there Tuesday 4th April 2017. I have an email address for the guy in charge of the stadium. He emailed me and told me how to gain access. Train journey along the coast to Cruz Quebrada. Go under the bridges and cross the road into the park. You'll see the flood lights up ahead of your left. Keep going... More

Took my husband to Lisbon to celebrate his 60th birthday and of course the highlight for him was a visit to this stadium, especially this year! We were lucky that there was a match being played that afternoon as it meant we were able to get access to a lot of areas you wouldn't normally get into. For a celtic... More

This is the Stadium where the wee team from Glasgow at the cost of £30,000 pounds beat the elite of Europe. Great visit. HAIL HAIL

Traveled to see the Estadio Nacional when on a football trip to Lisbon. Being a Celtic fan it is difficult to describe the feeling you get when you walk through the gates of old stadium and realized this is where a team of footballers form Scotland became lions

I have visited Cascais and Lisbon a number of times in the past without having made the pilgrimage to this stadium, With next year being the 50th anniversary of the famous result I thought now is the time!! All the previous reviews give accurate directions so I'm not going to bother, on arriving at the ground i was met with... More

Hubby really wanted to see this before we went home so off we went today. Train from Cais de sodre to Caiscais, easy. Two stops after Belem, get off at Cruz Quebrada station and walk as if towards the beach to exit the station. You will see the floodlights on the left of the lovely park you can walk through... As a very fairweather Celtic watcher, I felt that I couldn't visit Lisbon without making a trip here. It's easy to get to and having left the the train from Cais do Sodre to Estoril (Cascais) at Cruz Quebrada station, it's a 15 minute walk, across the dual carriageway and then bearing off to your left and into the park... the train journey alone is worth doing as is the walk through the park to get to the stadium itself. Its a very eerie place but a trip all football fans should make if they are in Lisbon.

I went to the stadium for a friend who is a Celtic fan. You cannot imagine how it must have been for the fans that night in 1967. I took the train from Lisbon and then walked up the tree lined avenue to the stadium. It was an amazing sight and I am so glad I did it. Took lots... More
