Quite an interesting visit. Unfortunately, there was a school group visiting the house and since the place is rather small, we couldn't enjoy the visit in detail. There's a cafe at the back of the house so we opted to spend some time there while the students finished their visit.

We had a quick stop at Pessoa's museum, and we pretty much enjoyed it. Nice multimedia content on the top floor, nice gift shop and big library at the ground floor, very nice service from the staff but not much to see.

After seeing the Saramago Museum, I hung on to my ticket to get a discount to see Casa Fernando Pessoa, Portugal's great modern poet. I have to admit this was a little more challenging to find. It was off the usual tourist path (northwest of Cathedral Estrela) needed the help of some locals. But once you find the street, the... More

I should open this review by saying I knew nothing about Fernando Pessoa before a recent holiday in Lisbon, and this house served to pique my interest and encourage me to find out more about him. Painted white, the building offers a very calm and cool environment. To the uninitiated, it is interesting to see some of Pessoa's words painted... More

I like to immerse myself in local culture wherever I visit. I'd never heard of Fernando Pessoa until I saw his statue outside of the Brasiliria Cafe so I set about to find out who he was. He's one of Portugal's most famous and favorite poets. The museum was clean and well maintained and easy to navigate. A guide or... More

A must see place. Great multimedial content, Pessoa's room and personal belongings and library. Very kind personnel and free wifi (pass: casafp2013). Entrance fee is 3 euro/person and it gives you benefits for entrance at Fundacao J. SARAMAGO for only 1 euro.

Pessoa explained Lisbon like no other writer has written about their native city. The museum is small, well organized, with timely temporary exhibitions.

The great poet has been living in this house just few years, from 1920 to his death (1935). Here are exposed some suggestive objects belonged to him: his typewriter, his glasses and some notebooks. His personal library was not particularly rich: just 1,200 books. But there’s a virtual library too, well done, and the portrait that the artist José de... More

You will love this cultural center! It is not a museum, per se. But an archive and interpretation of Pessoa's contributions to Portugal and literature. I highly recommend the guided tour which is performed by passionate guides who live and breath Pessoa scholarship. The bookstore and library are amazing resources also.
