The "Sapataria do Carmo", founded in 1904, is one of the oldest, smallest and charismatic shoes shops in the center of Lisbon. This shop is dedicated exclusively in selling handmade shoes, made by the best craftsmen from the Portuguese footwear industry. The 240 old fashion numbered shoe boxes, displayed on the walls, show the unique decor of the 50s. Here, you wiil find a modern range of models that are of a supreme quality and make you tiptoe in the excitement of trying them on!

Went by the old convent Carme and stumbled on the tiny shop. The shopkeeper is very knowledgeable and so kind. The shop is open til 8pm and on Sundays too. Got myself a pair!

Very helpful and friendly service, great selection of hand made Portuguese shoes with great prices, best in Lisbon. Most shops here sell international brands so it's good to finally find a shop selling local made shoes.

Visiting Sapataria do Carma was an absolute pleasure! The shop is charming and the staff helpful and delightful. The shoes are classically original--both beautiful to see and to wear. My husband and I left with eight pairs between the two of us.
