This is NOT the oldest book store in Lisbon or world. We got confused as google often shows up it as oldest. Oldest book store is different (Livraria Bertrand - Chiado).

This is well an old newspaper building converted into a book store. But, the choices of books even in Portugese or Spanish are limited. Forget English.

It has a rude board in the store- In stead of impressing others and taking photos, buy books!

Of course, we will buy books if we find a good one. But, a store should not compel to do so.

Ler Devager, LX Factory Lisbon: Having lived in most capital cities like New York, London and Amsterdam, I can safely say there’s nothing like this bookstore meets café meets record shop. It’s nostalgic, vintage, bohemsian and contemporary. Everything rolled into one. Previously a press factory (the old equipment have been left there which now becomes uber cool), it’s now where you get offbeaten titles and old records. Tourists and locals sniff their way in here and marvel at the amazing interior. It’s like ants walking up the metal staircases in amazement. Little wonder it was recognised by New York Times as one of the best and quirkiest bookstores. #eatstylishtravelstylish

As a bibliophile, I've seen many bookstores around the world, but this one ranks near the top, if not #1. The photos tell the story of this beautiful, imaginative space that once operated a giant printing press. That machine remains here, but is surrounding by stacks of books, plus a jazz vinyl shop on the second floor, a cafe on the ground, and an adjoining art gallery. Simply put, this is one hell of a cool place! It's also free to enter. Yes, it carries English books in its vast collection, including used. A must-see at LX Factory.

Great bookstore at LX Factory. Highly recommend you stop here before dinner and drinks. They have a cafe on the ground floor with some seating and of course, books. Crisp feel on this floor. Different vibe upstairs. Vinyl records up there, love the jazz selection. It was a pleasant surprise actually. And love the art out front.

This bookshop is gorgeous: books piled to the ceiling with ladders to explore! There is mix of used and new books in many languages, mostly Portuguese, French, and English. There are lovely trinkets for book lovers as well as some art to buy as well.

At the top of the bookshop there is a fun art installation/art school which you can explore that really fits with the vibe of LX Factory. This bookshop is definitely the best part of the LX Factory. If you like it you should check out the galleries across the street as well and the other bookstores just outside LXFactory.

Finally, there is a Jazz Store with records and music books and theory and it would be perfect for any music lover!

This is my favorite stop at the LX Factory, a very good bookstore with art inside. Everyone takes photos as the display and interior design is so unusual. Browse the books as well.

Lovely bookshop to visit if you are at LX Factory. Loads of interesting books mainly in Portuguese but some books in other languages and some small Lisbon related gifts as well. Quite busy.

The most interesting part of LX factory is this fun book shop. Worth the trip for this alone. They have a nice area to have a drink too! Great selection of Portuguese and international writers.

This bookstore is just impressive with its big shelves going almost as high as the ceiling. There is also a little cafe in the bookstore's upper level beside an old printing machine.

The place is not only cool to look at but also good place to buy books. Go around to enjoy the place and check out the books they offer. Probably you can find one to read or as a gift or as a souvenir.
