Well worth visiting. The castle and grounds are stunning. We spent around 2 hours there but could have taken longer had it not been that we were trying to pack so many things into our day. Even in October there were many visitors and lots...More

The king who built Pena Palace had to have a sense of humor and an eye for the fantastic. I do not want to give too much away, but let's just say it is fun to see the different styles of architecture thrown together. But...More

We really liked it here. The colors and architecture is worth the visit. Take the small bus up to the top from the gate. It’s 3euro per person round trip, and worth it. The lines to go inside were too long, so we skipped it.

Absolutely stunning. Beautiful with multiple design elements and bold inusual colors and details. The buildings look like a castle from a fairy tale. Go early in the day to avoid the crowds.

The palacio is a must. Arrive before the opening if you want a parking 100 meters after the palace. A difficult walk awaits you from the parking at the door. The queue may be long at the gate after 11:00. Once the door is crossed,...More

It is a long and steep walk to reach the Pena Palace, but worth every step. The views from the top, the colourful architecture are amazing. This is an Unesco World Heritage site. There is a cafe on top to buy refreshments, so take money...More

Pretty much on everyones list, The Palace of Pena is certainly worth the effort to visit. We drove (a challange) as we planned on touring the Atlantic Coast afterwards and arrived early (definite plus). If you are driving and can figure out the signage, there...More

No problem with buying tickets on the spot. You can also buy them in Sintra Train Station - no queues, and helpful ladies there.
