The gardens around the palace worth your time. The palace looks nice, but don't expect something grandiose; it's a small cute villa in the center of a wonderful park. Don't miss this place if you visit Sintra. The walk in the park may be a...More

Because it is a bit of a folly, not a practical palace at all. Most rooms have some museal function nowadays, you get the impression of how it was to live there. The gardens and grounds are beautiful, as is its lay out. Go and...More

We visited the place on a sunny afternoon and were quite pleased with the palace and gardens. The service at the tickets Kiosk was a bit dry with zero information provided (non a good welcome). Staff around the palace weren't helpful either. All the interior...More

We walked through the gardens to see all kinds of plants and flowers that were on display in this wonderful place. We walked up and down and went all around the grounds to just gaze at everything and it was just so peaceful.

Gorgeous palace and stunning gardens . It was so interesting to see the Moorish style of architecture with all the symmetrical arches in the corridors especially. Sir Francis Cook bought this estate in 1856 and created wild and romantic gardens with plants from all over...More

Montserrate Palace and park is a curious style or a Capuchos Couvent, a Franciscan Monastery of 1560; nice old trees and lot of flowers.

The 435 Villa Express takes you directly to Monserrate Palace. Beautiful easy to manage grounds and the inside of the Palace was gorgeous. Of all the sights, this was the easiest to manage and the least crowded. Highly recommend.
