Beautiful and away from the tourist crowds. Well worth the trip! Great place to stroll around with children who will enjoy looking at the fish in the ponds. Absolutely stunning.

blown away! this was a surprise... for garden lovers, the most beautiful gardens I have seen since a long time. The place is beautiful, well maintained, and still not that popular. A must, the very best of my trip to Lisbon.

We did these Gardens and it's "palace" to beat the crowds at the usual tourist spots. These are world class Gardens w well marked paths. Be prepared for hard walking. They have their own hop on-hop off cart.

The Monserrate Palace and Park were a delightful surprise to visit. We happened upon it driving around the loop through the Parks of Sintra. There were few others taking in the pleasures of its beautiful trails and gardens. This made for a very pleasant, tranquil visit. It was mid-March and the gardens were beginning to bloom; the gardeners were planting... More

This is a stately home with huge gardens. The gardens take a good while to get around, and it's all well worth a visit.

We loved out visit to the palace. The palace is a stunning and photogenic building. There are beautiful gardens surrounding it. There is a restaurant where we had a nice lunch and a gift shop. Loved our visit!

We came here in the late afternoon and found it to be so quiet and relaxing. We walked through the immense gardens and saw castle ruins, Mexican plants, lakes and roses amongst other things. It was stunning. The house was incredible, the most beautiful lace designs. I highly recommend.

If you want to get in arrive before 11am. The palace and the park are stunning. The hop on hop off electric car is comfortable but the seatbelts don't work. I had to hold on to my three year old. But the food and services in the cafeteria are amazingly good for such a touristic place.

This house was under "other palaces in the Sinatra area" in our guidebook, which undersold it hugely. The house itself is a good size, small enough that the decoration is fantastically ornate everywhere inside and well looked after. The geometric decoration is amazing. The grounds are lovely and well looked after. The small size of the house (and car park)... More

Nice walking distance from parking-lot. Uphill but very nice to walk there. Castle itself is smallish and in nice viewpoint. Loved the emptyness.
