It is a beutiful garden with many variety of plants. However the 'road' or the posible ways to do the visit are not clear and some small zones are not being used.

To come to the Botanical Garden by a cable car, first you have to take the one to Monte and then the second one to the Botanical Garden. Except a nice view from the hill, there is actually nothing special to see in this place...More

So its old and on the side of a mountain so you expect a workout! However they have worked hard to make it inaccessible. The only wheelchair ramp is a 33% slope to the exit gate which you can't get a wheelchair through (see photo....More

Covers a large area, but not so good as thre tropical garden up the hill at Monte. The cable car ride to get there is good!

The botanical gardens are nice and reasonable value, but it would be nice to see more flowers and more things that you don’t see elsewhere on the island. There are very good views over Funchal though from various points.

A nice park with excellent views but nothing interesting to see inside. Maybe if it was free entrance would be fair to consider a visit.

I liked this garden because of the platform! It is beatiful! Maybe the plants can be upgraded and some more flowers can be put. There is also kind of arena which is not used anymore. This could be done to improve the quality. Next to...More

This is worth a visit for sure, lots of beautiful plants, and crowded with small lizzards. A shame you can only pay by cash. It's the same for the terrace where you can have a drink, only cash as well. Not a big deal, but...More

A limited amount of on street parking. We got the bus up there which cost €1.95 each and we shared a taxi back down with another couple which cost us €2 each. Easier than driving up as well.
