We arrived in Funchal off the cruise ship this morning not having booked an excursion. We took the hop on hop off Tour the blue route which was great fun, and informative. The views were beautiful and I would highly recommend it.

We did the Bigyellowbus on our first day in Funchal as we thought it would be a good way of getting our bearings. We paid our fee and got on the bus with the tickets showing them to the driver. We then found some seats...More

We bought a 5 day ticket before we travelled. Though you don't need 5 days it was nice to have the choice of not going 2 days running and to be able to go again and jump off at different stops. Sky platform was amazing....More

Picked up the yellow bus in Funchal to travel to Camara de Lobos. Here you have to transfer to a smaller yellow bus as the roads up to Cabo Girao are very narrow in places. Spectacular views on the journey up which was well worth...More

These buses are too infrequent and unreliable; we bought 2 5 day tickets when we should have bought a Giro bus ticket and used the rapid local buses. The trip to Camera to Do Lobos is underwhelming; horrible little fishing village with nothing going on,The...More

Don't think you can use ticket on public buses! Buses stop at same bus stop and didn't see anyone with a 24/48 hr pass using public buses!
