Having been on ferry daytrips in several parts of the world the Porto Santo ferry overall compares favourably with one significant exception. There was ample seating on board, a good choice of food in the restaurant and a timely service. However we found it absolutely...More

No. Unfortunately there is only the one sailing a day from Porto Santo to Madeira. The ferry leaves Porto Santo at 6pm and arrives Funchal about 8.15pm and only returns to Porto Santo the next morning at 8.am. I know that the ferry does leave Funchal on Friday pm and remains in Porto Santo overnight returning to Funchal on Saturday morning but you will need to check out the availability and conditions of this sailing as I don't know anyone who used it on those sailings. I should think it is for passenger use, I can't see why it would run empty!. hope this helps.
