A very well laid out museum giving the history of settlement on the island. It answered all the questions I had. Very interesting, with not too many boxes of long text. A good few things to keep the kids entertained too.

The museum is small but well laid out so it contains quite a lot of stuff. However most of the exhibits were educational rather than authentic and quite a few of the “interactive” displays just weren’t working. I felt quite cheated having paid €5 a...More

Maybe good for children but I did not find it worth the money. Has history of the island and some basic interactive exhibits but not everything was working.

This museum gave us a good history of Madeira and all the information boards were in English easy to read and informative. Not bad value €5 admission thought take lift to terrace shame beer was twice price as earlier one in town
