This square, like the entire casco viejo, remains very beautiful. This is a very special town in Portugal where many towns are not in pristine condition. This town is wonderful.

Come here for the evening with friends to eat and drink. It is a bustling square with lots of people and lots of character but it never feels crowded.

Enjoy walking in a medieval city. Beautiful architecture, a church, shops, restaurants, and just the feel of an old Portuguese city. Walk through after you have visited the castle just for the ambiance!

We were there in the early afternoon and there were a lot of people. I'd imagine early morning is better.

Make sure you sit in one of the many bars and watch the world go by. Great choice of bars and restaurants in the square

This is a lovely plaza to relax and take in the spirits of this historic Portuguese town. It's great to wander the twisty-turny streets and pop into an old church here and there.

Great spot, in the old town section; lot's of restaurants with outside tables; and big cathedral. Hotel Da Oliveira is right on this square.

It is a central location, framed by historical buildings, blinding white in the sun from the marble mosaic floor.

Although it's kind of ground-zero for tourists, the beautifully restored square manages to retain all its charm. Nice terraces for coffee, drinks or lunch or dinner...
