Any tour of Portugal will inevitably include a visit to at least one of the countless churches found throughout the city. Before you reach your fill be sure to see this particular church while in Guimaraes. The late 14th century building has an interesting blend of architecture and the well-preserved interior will immediately transport you back hundreds of years. I... More

Located just outside the walled old city lies this massive church and adjoining convent. The interior is quite ornate and is covered in blue and white tiles and a gold gilded altar. The interior ceiling is a massive stone/concrete arch, also highly stylized. The exterior of the convent is also covered in blue and white tiles. Combine a visit to... More

I agree with other reviewers - this is worth a detour out of town to visit and once inside, dont forget to look at the ceiling.

A lot of details emerge in this big church. It should not make you indifferent any of the altars and decorations shown

A perfect example of portuguese art. This church is unbelievably beautiful. Take a tour and enjoy. It is really cheap.

Outside the church is very interesting, but inside is really amazing. If you have the opportunity to visit the sacristy is really good. You can also see the claustro. It is very important to notice that is a very alive place where Francsicans live and they have a school as well as a house for elders.

Another church depicting the Holy Virgin with 7 swords in her stomach - learned from Igreja Sto. António dos Capuchos That these are the suffering the mother suffered for her son. Interior golden. At the foot of the magnificent Largo República do Brasil, a flower filled Street
