WORLD OF DISCOVERIES is, from April this year, a must-see to fully understand the country's extraordinary history. An Interactive Museum and Theme Park that recreates the fantastic odyssey of the Portuguese navigators, crossing oceans to discover an unknown world. Get onboard of a caravel and prepare to discover new worlds, flavors and people in a total area of 5000 square meters. Some of the technological features as 4D Globes and Fog Screens are completely unprecedented in the country and open doors to an entirely new and fantastic time when setting off to the sea was the most adventurous thing one could do, the equivalent of today's space travelling. The journey ends up in a shop and restaurant, both themed and willing to guide you through richness and culinary from the four corners of the world.

My son loved our visit and said it was one of his favorite activities in Porto. There is enough information to please all ages without being overwhelming. I found the final boat ride to be a bit cheesy but the museum is still worth a...More

Spent about an hour and half here - interactive and very well thought out. We were definitely big kids as we took full advantage of the dressing up and the boat ride at the end was much more exciting than museums that just have displays....More

This is an odd mixture - beautiful models of medieval ship, interactive screens, full-size representations of people and the interior of ships and a workshop. And, finally, a very good 20 minute disney-esque boat trip via lands discovered by Portuguese explorers. Certainly great for kids...More

It is not large and some of the displays / animation look a bit like Disneyland but the information given is amazing. For a small country, Portugal ranks very large on the scale of discoveries. You will not be sorry to visit this attraction.
