Whilst lots of people were clearing up the seaweed on the beach, the sea itself was not very inspiring as it wasn't exactly crystal clear and shelved quite steeply.
Lots of the sun loungers and umbrellas had seen better days and were a bit scruffy.
We stayed at our immaculate pool area at our hotel after that

One of my favourite beaches of the holiday. A lovely bay with nice soft sand with a gentle slope into the warm sea, which is calm by comparison to Chaweng. There are plenty of restaurants and massage huts, you can lie out on the beach as there is a decent amount of shade or hire loungers, about 200 baht each with a parasol. Also bean bags and towels available.
Sat outside Pure for the day and chilled with tasty snacks and cold drinks. All very clean, good wi fi and a hospitable owner!

Calm, peaceful and quiet beach.
Although restaurants and bars are along the beach. The water is like a bath, with fish to see if snorkeling.
It seemed an ideal location for families.
It is very beautiful. And if you get up early enough, you can watch the sunrise

Loved this attractive beach. Beautiful sand and gently shelving into the sea. About 15 minutes to walk from one end to the other. Lovely vibe and a good selection of restaurants and bars.

I stayed for 5 week in samui and visited this beach many time during day time, because it was less trafficked than other beaches nearby, is a beautiful beach without the trashy tourist feel, although you can find a couple of restaurants, merchants who visit your chair wanting to sell sarongs and all the other things that come with touristy beaches in Thailand. When the wind is strong, there are large waves here, but when the wind is calm the water is as well. Just a short time for our resort, this is a beach that is worth a day of your time.

They should have a policy of making tourists clean up their own rubbish. The garbage floating around thrown by tourists are a real issue that makes locals unhappy.

We preferred this beach much better than Chaweng. Everything was very clean, plenty of activities and good restaurants to choose from.

Choeng Mon is near Chaweng(10 minutes) and is a lot quieter. For me, it's the way to go. I went to visit chaweng for the night parties and relaxed in Choeng Mon, where my hotel was. Truly a blissful experience.

Lovely beach, visit here most days and always enjoy a great massage at Samui Honey.
However, after coming here for 5 years, we now have a scam artist running the jet skis.
The contract paperwork clearly states 1000 bht / 20 mins or 1300 bht / 30 mins.
(It was 1000 / 30 mins last year)
However, there is no mention on the paperwork price list of the extra 200 bht for a second passenger. Totally new to me and clearly destined for his bulging back pocket!
Gave the jet ski a miss this year out of principle. Shame.

For me and my girlfriend this beach was the best.
We visited Chaweng, it was too touristy and full of single people. Party central. Every morning the streets looked like a war zone. Bophut had a pretentious feeling to it.
This beach is great. It has the natural beauty and gives you the feeling that the locals are still in charge. It hasn't been ruined by European establishments. It's relaxing and still has all the amenities you would want. Massages on the beach, restaurants and bars.
I will recommend this beach to couples, families or anyone who wants to unwind and enjoy nature without feeling like you're in a commercial area.

Can you book a taxi from the cruise port to take you to the beach and how much would it be
Written 6 January 2020
Good Day,
You should download the NaviGo app on your cellphone when traveling around the island if you want to take taxis. Depending on time of day there are price surges both with the cabs and NaviGo but I found the NaviGo service to be safe and fare charges exact. They don’t take you on extraneous drives which cost you extra. It’s like a very safe Uber where you can see the map/route taken to where you wish to be. Prices are set.
Another tip no matter which taxi system you decide to take is to give the impression when they kindly enquire how long you there is to give an impression that you know the island. It makes any driver who might have ideas of taking you on an extra joyride to think twice before taking you on a circuitous route.
Alternatively there are the jump on and off local transport if you don’t have luggage which goes right around the main road of the island and have signs on the side of the vans indicating their destination like Cheongmon as an example.
Hope this helps.

Can you walk here from The Melati Beach Resort and Spa? Thankyou
Written 22 March 2019
Is this a good place to go as a family ( 2 children (8&10) and my parents(69&70), don't want anything too partying or busy but need a good selection of restaurants and easy access to other parts of the island.
Thanks

We never saw a party when we were there. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from on the main road. The beach was never very busy. It is not far from the airport but not on the flight path. Plenty of different forms of transport ply their trade so no difficulty in getting about.

We are concerned about the flooding in Koh Samui as we are planning a trip in a months time. The airport was closed too. Can anyone who has recently been staying in Chong Mon Beach advise what the situation is there now ? Many thanks.

We have been here for the past 9 days . It is a mix of rain and beautiful sunny days . The flooding is no where to be seen. All is back to normal . Planes are going in and out . Enjoy your holiday!

Hi, this will be our first time in koh samui, staying at imperial beach house choeng beach for two weeks in November, is it possible to island hop? Which island and can you recommend a hotel for night or two.... also noticed choeng is quiet so would be having a few evenings in chaweng beach does anyone know how much a taxis costs from choeng to chaweng. Any other tips or recommendations on what to do or go would be really appreciated Thanks guys

Hi,
The islands near Koh Samui are small and many have no accommodation but don't yak long by speed boat or ferry to get to them. Most people go to them because that want to do scuba, snorkelling, swimming or hiking in beautiful unspoiled surroundings. You can easily organise trips to them from any hotel or booking agent in Koh Samui. The distance between the two beaches is about 10 mins by taxi and is very cheap maybe 100 to 140 Thai baht. Easy to hire motorbike/ moped or a car to get around if you are going to be there for a couple of weeks. You can try these near by islands: Koh Phangan, Koh Tao about the only islands with tourist accommodation and facilities, just TripAdvisor them to get more info.
Have fun!
