The place of Ganga matha temple and the place where Bagiratha prayed and brought Ganga to the earth. Devotional and peaceful place. Very cold place and chance of snow fall is very high during rainy season also.

A most mesmerising trip from Uttarkashi to the Gangotri Temple. Beautiful view of snow clad mountains on the way. Travelling along the river Ganga was an out of the world experience. Only when you go there, you understand why this place is holy.

I visited the temple in first week of May when the temple was opened. Found the place very quiet & not much crowd. It is a serene place & I felt to have received divine blessing from the lord ganga.

Hey there, I am planning to go in June'15. Are there any lodges or hotels to stay in near Gangotri Temple. We are planning a trek to Gomukh and wish to complete it within a day and return back. What are the tariffs and do we need to book in advance or it can be done once we reach there?
