This shop has many interesting stuff. Shampoos, candies, body creams and so on based on mastiha. I have been there in a couple of times and recommend it. Besides, it is very well located, a walk distance from the parliament.

I went to the shop on my way to view the University. Well displayed products with information on all the packaging. Mastiha is a natural product and is derived from the resin of the Mastiha tree that is only grown on the island of Chios. The products are branded under "The Chios Gum Mastic Growers Association" I was so surprised... More

I visited this shop, again based on review in TripAdvisor. I found it easy, it is really 200m way from Syntagma Metro Station, and Syntagma Square. It is clean, fresh and well-ordered shop. I did not know much for Mastiha Tree, so I went there to learn more and to get some ideas for gifts. The shop assistant was nice.... More

Mastic, or the "tears of Chios" is a very special product that comes from the island of Chios and is very hard to find anywhere else. It comes from mastic trees and they use it in many products. This shop has a variety of the products that are produced by mastic, with the very distinctive smell and sweet taste, like... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
