Walking up Mars Hill - the rocks are slippery, but worth the trek~ There is an easier walkway to the left. Walking up the Acropolis is very easy and worth the time and money! Stop and read as you are looking at these huge ruins!

December is a great time to go as there are very few tourists. We were so lucky our uber driver took us straight to the ticket office which is almost half way up. This really helped as I have mobility issues. If we had taken...More

I imagine in peak season this could be unpleasantly busy. Our sunny day in December was great. Could be improved by provision of audioguide or equivalent. Will look better once scaffolding removed. Paths slippy in places - take care or you could come an Acropolis.

We climbed to the top of the Acropolis during a tour. The climb is steep and somewhat exhausting, but! the view is worth the climb. Athens is a complex and beautiful city filled with history and culture,

More crowded than ever on a hot day. Splendid views as always. Very little changes to the structures, not much remodeling or fixing. Very hard to walk around. Very inspiring to say the least. What a place! Love it!

To be in a place where practically the cradle of Western civilisation was formed is breathtaking. The ruins of the Parthenon, Erechtheion is something very hard to comprehend that these were at some point buildings actually used.

3 nights is a good amount of time. We didn't do any museums, but you can see many of the ruins for free and it's good to see some history. Try and go for a hotel close to or in the Plaka area so that everything you are... More
