Venetian architecture on Crete...beautiful old façade and interior near the harbor and old town...many photo ops for shutterbugs, take a break and enjoy a drink in a nearby taverna or coffee shop. The Loggia shouldn't be missed on your stroll through Heraklion.

The history of loss and rebuilding makes me glad that in the end, some of this magnificent public building was saved.

We enjoyed seeing the building itself, it is of old style construction so it was very nice to see it is still standing as well as it is. easy to find even for the amateur map reader.

Nice old historical construction with many arcs; probily from the venetian time, and I think it's the City Hall, the municipality of Heraklion.

Seeing that place shall be wothwhile. Its existance is a work of the Ventians, therefore a visit in that building can help you gain some more knowledge about the history of Crete and its owners - the Venetians, the Turks.. Nowadays that building serves as a City Hall and the fact od its renewed purpose shows that no historical building... More

This elaborated building, close to the Morosini fountain, has a complex and reach architecture, similar to those built by Venice in many town in Veneto. It houses now City Hall and it is worth a visit.

the Loggia is located naturally on the main street of Heraklion and dates back to the Venetian times ; it is naturally worth taking a picture or two of it as it has a special archtecture,different from the Cretan culture ;

The Loggia is located near the Morosini fountain, ergo you can easily combine a visit to both followed by a visit to the Venetian harbor just downhill. The building is one of the Venetian period eye catching sights.

Beautiful building. Worth a nosey if you're in Heraklion any way. Wouldn't go out of my way to see it. But definitely stop by if you're in the city centre
