This is an interesting and pretty fountain, but not worth a detour. Just take it in as you walk up past the Loggia towards the cathedral.

Don't miss this. Amazing to think dates to Venetian times! In great condition. A great place to use to get your bearings geographically, and also as a meeting point. Lots of cafes and restaurants surround this so a great eating place as well!

As fountains go, it's nice enough. There are plenty of restaurants around, so it makes a decent spot to take five and regroup after walking the slightly disappointing sightseeing walks.

The water in the fountain was very dirty when we were there. Tourists do not care about where they throw their garbage. It looks very old and nice.

The fountain is surrounded by cafes, yes you pay more if you eat in the square and there are more places beyond, but if is a great place to people watch.

Lovely feature that's still in use and working order. You can admire the feature from the very numerous small coffee shops around the square.

Walked past it a number of times but only really noticed it one evening when some local dogs took to bathing in it. Very cute. Seems to be a meeting place given its central position .

In the centre of a delightful pedestrianised mall in Heraklion there is a circular space surrounded by shaded tavernas and ice-cream parlours, and another popular rendez-vous, the Morosíni Fountain. This Heraklion landmark was built in 1628 by the Venetian governor Francesco Morosini, and intended to...More

Hello, the Morosini Fountain is a 20 min walk. I reckon. I am not sure where exactly the cruise ships moor. But once you get to the bottom of 25th August street, you are in a pleasant pedestrian area. You walk straight up... More
