The Park has the concept of a rich biodiversity ecosystem of Crete. The visitors are guided though the rich wild vegetation of the park with the plants of Cretan traditional cookery, the aromatic medical herbs, the beautiful wild flowers from Crete and a lot of animals that live in this ecosystem. Crete with 10% endemic species gave a reasonable target to create this non profit park, to show the exotic flora and fauna of our island.

Small garden with guided tours by mostly young people doing internships. There are a lot of herbs and different animals as well as a litte cave to see. The view over Rethimo is fantastic. You get a lemon-water at the beginning and end and have a chat with the guides. We made the tour with our 2 year old and... More

This is a lovely little nature reserve which is maintained by volunteers, who will guide you through a small trail showing the native flowers and fauna of Crete. There is a small collection of rabbits and lizards. The key is here is not to expect too much - it's not an adventure park, or a theme park - best to... More

The walk to the park was nice, going uphill. Park itself is small, but people (volunteers) are doing great work - they tell a lot about plants and animals. That was quite interesting excursion. Our small child was happy to feed bunnies and chickens.

It's not a very big deal. Just a small park, but it seems like you're visiting friends that work here because they love it and beacuse they care for it. We loved the visit.

Although we were a bit sceptic of being given a guided tour, I'm glad we stuck with it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we found the tour really interesting. And I got to hold a 3 week old chameleon! You get plenty of time after the tour to just enjoy the park and the incredible views. We walked from... More

There are plants that are natural to Greece and can be seen growing to demonstrate the habitat. There are some captive reptiles such as a tortoise, some chameleons a snake and iguana. There are also some rabbits. There is a school activity centre attached to the park and the children were in there running about shouting and climbing in with... More

This is not English Heritage, 😳you can't take a pushchair and it's not suitable for the less mobile. But it is delightful! A real gem and a great way to spend an hour or two. If the kids are bored with sand, take them here! They can see and hear tales of rabbit eating pythons, fussy dragons called Freddie, hand... More

The park is a little hard to find but its definitivly worth it! They currently have baby chameleons there, very cute. You can even feed them. Also snakes, cretan rabbits and so on. All is completly original, nothinghas been planted! Alot of typical herbs of crete to see and smell. The volunteers there made a nice tour for us and... More
