This is a modern in design small museum that you can visit easily. It is one of the museums in Europe that was voted "exellent". The theme of the exibition is the life of the local inhabitands more than 2000 B.C including agricultural, cosmetic, industrial and ethical aspects of their life. It is interesting as here was esrablished one of... More

The museum is very small and covers both Ioannina and the nearby Dodoni sanctuary. The display starts with the usual stuff - coins, weapons, etc. But there are some displays that stand out. I specially liked the wall that is covered with messages left to the Oracle - some with answers. An amazing window to understand what was so important... More

Artifacts from the archeological site at the Sanctuary of Zeus at Dodoni are on display in a one floor modern museum. The layout follows a linear timeline. Text describing displays is in both Greek and English.

The high quality exhibits were well presented with good English language signage on most. So many exhibits were fine and complete examples of what is only hinted at in other museums. Finding the entrance was difficult - and we travel a lot. Signage in nearby streets needs improving. We spent a very enjoyable hour here and came away with memories... More

There are finds from the Nekromanteion site. I also enjoyed the lead tablet writings of questions for the oracles.

Really good layout, easy to follow in terms of chronology as there was a nice a huge depiction of the different epochs in the corridor. A leaflet describing the contents of the halls was very useful. An hour was enough to explore the museum. Just a minor detail, some of the exhibits were temporarily moved to Athens (mid-June 2016). Entrance:... More

Personally I did not like this Museum as I found it boring. It's very small but has been laid out well. The Museum pretty much shows ancient finding, sculptures etc, but as I have little knowledge of Greek history it meant nothing to me. All exhibits have detailed information in Greek and English but by the 4th info board I... More
