Dropped anchor in this lovely little bay, had a swim, had lunch, then sailed off to our next destination. A fab way to see the Ionian islands and all the lovely beaches, bays and harbours.

A Popular beach with both locals and tourists close to Vathi. Sunbeds and umbrellas for rent for 10 Euro - not exactly cheap. Snacks and drinks available from a small cafe. Water is crystal clear but beach shoes are strongly recomended. This is where you go if you want the service and like company. If you prefer a bit more... More

Filiatro beach, near Vathy (do not confuse with Filatro beach near Kioni - which is just as good) is worth seeking out by car or taxi. Off the beaten track but with sunbeds and umbrellas and a seasonal cantina, this pebbly beach is well worth a visit. Take jelly shoes, which all beaches on Ithaca need, and an empty bladder... More

Peaceful beach: we went there many times during the afternoon. We were middle september, so not crowdy at all.

There used to be just one beach on Ithaca with sunbeds and umbrellas - Poli Beach near Stavros. Filatro now also has sunbeds and umbrellas but is still a gorgeous stretch of beach without too many people to spoil the tranquility. The water, as everywhere in Ithaca, is crystal clear. The beach is pebbly - beach/swimming shoes help - and... More

A great place to stay, clear water and reefs to snorkel round. Also a great little beach bar to top it off.

This particular beach is close to Vathy (about 3 km) and in my opinion is the most popular for locals and for tourists. If you do visit this beach, try to go to the North side as it is better when entering and/or coming out from the Sea, as the pebbles are small and you will not damage or feel... More

This wide beach is sited at the south-east of Ithaca. Crystal clear water like all off the other beaches in this island. Sun beds and umbrellas are available all along the beach. There is also a cantine serving food and beverages in high season. Worth to visit during summer vacation in Ithaca.

We found a Filiatro beach as a crowdy place with lots of people and cars etc. There are some calm and nice beaches nearby, so we chose another place to stay. But this beach is good for sociable people who liked services like buffet and umbrella with sunbeds (for 10 euros).

It offers all you expect. Cristal clear water. Beach bar with draft beer, Souvlaki grill. Umbrellas, chairs - all the rest is pure nature, olive trees, blues sky!
