This is a lovely beach with sulphur permeating from the sea bed. Very small so don't expect large amounts of round to sunbath in. Just go for a swim and snorkel.

Stopped for a swim on the way back from the shipwreck cove boat tour, the water was very buoyant here due to the sulphur content in the water, it whiffs a bit but is a unique experience.

It has many stairs so you will need to walk a bit to get there, but it's a great beach to visit. Also there are many rocks in the sea.

Beach was beyond crowded, to the point where people actually stepped between us, constantly which is not my idea of fun, I like personal space. Beach is very stony and smells and the hill to get to and from is also extremely steep. I probably...More

Very tiny beach, there is only one small canteen, no umbrella, no sun bed. Be careful of the waves created by the boats passing, as the beach is very small, your towel and stuff can be wet. The beach is rocky and smells sulphur ,...More

On our way to Zante we stopped here for a swim...the water was very nice, a little oily, but good. The colour of the water was a beautiful blue. I did understand that the water is good for health. Don't wear silver in the water...More

Really lovely small beach with sunbeds, beautul crystal clear blue water. Stairs take you down to the beach, there is actually no soft sand, it's just white small pebbles. A small snackbar/reasturant is at the top of the beach. Yes, it really does smell bad,...More

The xygia beach itself is a little crowded at times, however me and my partner swam across to the other beach on the other side of the rocks where the pebbles are so soft and massaging!! We literally lay there on the rocks and fell...More

Becaus it is sulpher beach, there is a very bad smell, you cannot stay there for long. We could not get into the sea because of the smell, after almost 100 steps to go down.

There are lots of rentals all over Zante. You can rent a scooter for 15€/day, quad for 25€/day or a car (Suzuki Jimny for 45€/day). I have rented a quad for one day and it is enough to see the whole island. I wish you a... More
