Beautiful modern museum containing many items relating to the history of the region - paintings, old coins and many architectural pieces. All items are impressively displayed and being here with a group, the benefit of a guided tour made the experience even better!

If you like museums, this one coupled with the nearby Archaeology Museum will not disappoint. The collection is well curated and there is easy to read signage.
We just loved learning about Byzantine Culture. My young son was thrilled every time he saw jewelry and coins. We all were amazed by the mosaics and finery. Definitely a must-do in Thessaloniki.
