Very well structured little museum. It covers the period from prehistoric macedonia to historic time. Includes several macedonian archeological gems like the mighty gold corona from Nea Apollonia and several others. It contains the full history of the city of Thessaloniky with pictures, maps, interactive equipment an so on. It is a must to visit while being in the capital... More

I enjoyed the archeological museum very much. It was well-organized, had amazing items it its collection, but was not overwhelming in its size.

I am fan of history, this museum offered many different exhibitions. Many artefacts and information on ancient Greek times, including urban and social development of the region. Rich gold collection. I also liked the exhibition about deporting Greeks from Turkey. It is so conveniently located, that you should visit this museum if you have time. 1-2 hours minimum recommended time.

The museum space is very big There are a lot of exhibits at the museum. The time to go over the exhibits is very very long. But There is no rest places for rest during the tour, there is no drinking water points, toilets are only at the entrance to the place. The only place for a cup of coffee... More

You will be pleasantly surprised to come across such a sophisticated collection of items of different ages. The museum is easily accessible, very nicely arranged so that you enjoy your visit, learn a lot of new things without getting tired or stressed.

Okay we were spoilt and this Museum is not even close to being as grand as the Athens Archaeological Museum. However, it had loads to offer and remained very educational and worth a visit

A rich collection of artifacts from a plethora of historical periods. Very well aranged and labeled exhibits. You can admire pottery, coins, weapons, armor, jewellery, sarcophagi and numerous golden wreaths which are some of the highlights of the museum. Easily accessible, at the centre of the city.
