Highly rated by daughter (an archaeologist) as one of the best displays she has seen. Uncluttered and well-labelled. Oh, and a nice cafe....

A good place to get an overview of the region's past, especially ancient, and some ideas about sites worth finding. Some magnificent Macedonian gold work and the stunning Derveni krater, which is worth the visit on its own.

I have visited the museum three times and am never disappointed. What a beautiful way to bring history alive.

Great museum with excellent exhibits and good information boards. Mostly ancient Greek and Roman history as you would expect, some Bronze Age stuff.

Best museum I have been to in Greece. All the exhibits were well laid out and described in Greek and English. The national museum in Athens could learn from this one.

In fact it is a nice museum including a short movie about Macedonian History..You enchance your knowledge about the antique Macedonia and the layout is good. Unfortunatelly, it is disappointing seeing very few about Alexander the Great, in this respect, do not expect much.

The museum cost 8 euro admission. There are many exhibits ranging from pottery to gold to mosaic. I spent about 1.5 hours here.
