Hi, I got the train from Thessaloniki to Litohoro . It was very cheap . The taxi to Litohoro was 8 euros the train I think was 12 euros . Cheaper than car rental

i advice you not to do it on your own.many happened the last ten years and you should be careful..but as you wrote you dont want to pay for guide .then try it .anyhow from prionia to go down to the city of litohoro is not so... More

By bus is cheaper and one hour to get to larisa and one to go to litohoro next to olympus Mountain. Just ask if there is an everyday bus to Katerini litohoro. Ok let me know
