A small village which shows old farms and old houses - most of them fully furnished, you go several hundred years back entering into this village. There are several work shops with busy craftsmen, showing how things were done in the olden days. Women preparing food, making laces, feeding the animals. You can also go into an old mill, so... The village contains of farms and houses from all over Fyn. There is a mill, a school and other working places. I go there every summer when the Hans Christian Andersen play is on. It is a musical show with children as cast. High quality performance I dare say. The farms and houses are sorrounded by gardens and fields and... More

You will find this pearl just a couple of miles south of Odense city center, 10-15 minutes by car. When you enter through the modern and well-equipped visitor center, you step some two hundred years back in time, into a village with small and large farmhouses, a school, an inn and a country hospital. Farm animals, a staff dressed up... More

Model villages can be hokey and commercial, but this one has an authentic feel to it, like a visit back to the real olden days. Scattered around the spacious grounds is an extensive collection of traditional Danish village buildings all of which can be visited. There is also a working, old-style farm, and a host of hands-on activities. Funen is... More

If you have to choose between this ancient village and the other one in aarhus this is definitely, in my opininon, more complete.

A great place to visit and get the feel of the old ways. The village is very well kept, with a lot of atractions going on and it is a gorgeous scenary in and around the village. In the summer time they have plays and concerts here, for both adults and kids. Highly recomended.
