For hundreds of years the Danes were an unstoppable force of warriors, explorers and settlers – uniting Scandinavia, discovering America and bringing terror to the shores of Europe. Today Copenhagen’s history of fire and bloody battles lies hidden behind picturesque streets and colorful harbors. As the days of conquest passed, Danish power was replaced with a rich cultural legacy of writers, artists and philosophers. The fairytale feel of the city where Hans Christian Andersen wrote is the home of incredible stories and unbelievably true histories: Viking adventurers; pirate-hunting Bishop Absalon; daring Danish WWII resistance fighters and more. Our local expert guides will take you on a 3 hour walking tour through 6000 years of Copenhagen’s history and you’ll find out why the Danes are some of the happiest people in the world!

We did the free city tour with Magnus. He was entertaining and provided us with a decent amount of historical facts. We had a small group as the weather was poor but the tour was interesting nonetheless.

The tour itself was okay but I was in Copenhagen for one day and probably would have seen more if I was touring the city by myself. There was too much unnecessary information and that obviously wasted my time. In the end I headed back to the airport without seeing the other important monuments, like the spinning tower and the... The tour was about 2,5 hours long with a 20min coffee break in the middle. Our tour guide was Laura, she was very helpful, friendly and motivated. You learn a lot about the history, the royals and Carlsberg. It was interesting, although I would have wished to hear more about WWII. I would definitely recommend the tour!

We visited Copenhagen and we did the tour with MARTIN. He was the best guide. Also a Danish local who enriched the tour with traditional danish jokes and real stories that are part of the danish culture. Super energetic and charismatic. Martin is the guide so I totally recommend him. We did the free tour and the alternative with him.

We took the alternative tour. Martin did a great job explaining some complex as delicate subjects regarding Copenhagen's social policies, and he was also very entertaining along the way.

The tour was interesting and the guide did a great job of navigating a rather large tour group (about 30). Would recommend

The tour was as expected, taking you to the main sights. But the tour guide was just rude. I didn't like his attitude. When two girls were talking, silently, not disrupting anyone, the tour guide called them out like: "If you want to talk then go ahead and I will stop talking". They weren't bothering anyone, so let them be..... More

We have done many tours with sandman in other cities and try to make a habit of doing them when available. Again this walking tour did not disappoint. Our guide Felix was impressive and the tour really enjoyable. He knows the city, pointed out all the highlights and added other touches where possible like on our day the gold apples... More

Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
