It's a great place to walk where you can seep in the sun and beautiful architecture of the buildings all around, that Denmark is known for. It's a good area to hang out at and people watch to enjoy a sunny day.

This is the beach without a beach. This is where the locals to to dangle their legs over the edge of the quay, discuss life and enjoy a beer in the summer sun. On winter afternoons and evenings the view from Islands Brygge is dominated by the city lights and the many new and architecturally interesting coorporate headquaters recently erected... More

We arrived at Islands Brygge after getting the water taxi hoping to get off and find a place to eat. However, trying to find a place to eat was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. We followed the maps but most eateries were take outs and not restaurants like we were hoping - The restaurants that were... More

It is already a cult place for a sunny day in summer - loads of people doing different things - from grill to yoga. Good for a nice swim in cold waters ;)

Islands Brygge is a well know place by the Danes. It is very central in Copenhagen. The main attraction is the Harbour Bathing! It has a marked off safe area for lane swimming, diving area with 3 different heights and 2/3 kids pools. It is the water from the harbour so in the winter you might get a little chilly.... More

We ate here twice during our visit to Copenhagen, and both times were great! Choose from a variety of food stands and eat indoors or out. The first time we made reservations online for a table inside, and it was perfect for us since it was raining and we had our young grandchildren with us. We had a guaranteed dining... More

A typical Danish beach with all the trimmings. Fabulous looking girls showing the world what a beautiful life they live in Copenhagen. Incredibly friendly beach crowd. Beats Paris and Frankfurt town beaches by far.

Peaceful winter walk to see the bathing area & more residential area. Small Playpark, cafes. Bridge leads to mall

Staying in Amager

Neighbourhood Profile
In the eastern part of this neighbourhood, visitors will discover Amager Strandpark, a beach area which has become increasingly popular. It’s only a 30 minute bicycle ride or a 10 minute Metro trip away from the city center. Only a few hundred yards inland, some of the most creative musicians, artists, and writers in Copenhagen are occupying some of the old storage houses and production facilities. The western part is one of Copenhagen's most rapidly evolving areas, here you’ll find international architecture of the highest rank, the state of the art TV-Byen (the Danish pendant to BBC), a golf course as well as Copenhagen's best (and tiniest) ice bar.
