A place for prayer which conveys the great respect for all the religions in this modern capital city. Not impressive still worth to see.

Built in 1853 and as beautiful as ever. The Cantor was a convivial tour guide, giving us an apercu into the history of Jewish Copenhagen and of the building itself. It's regrettable that you have to make an appointment way ahead of time and go through layers of security, but it seems to be the modus operandi these days. If... More

A beautiful old synaguge for the small Jewish community which remained in Copenhagen. You can visit it if you check the right time. We loved it.

The Synagogue has heavy security after the guard was shot and killed in February of 2015. You can only visit between 10-12 when the Cantor is there.

We visited the synagogue and were fortunate to have a tour by the Cantor. Even though he has a busy schedule, between 10 and 12 most week days he gives his time to interested tourists. It's internal beauty is something to behold - one of the most beautiful that we have ever seen. There is a sadness in the air... More

This is what remains of a vibrant Jewish Comminity. It is now heavily secured due to the killing that happened in the front of the building in February. The interior is beautiful. Worth Seeing.

This is a beautiful old synagouge. If you visit for a service, people are friendly and helpful. Know that there is usually at the door. If you want to see the inside of the synagouge, check the hours on their website beforehand and/or contact the administration so that you wont be disappointed.

Make sure to contact the staff prior to Friday to get your name on the guest list, and make sure to grab a siddur in English, not Danish. Then relax for a warm lovely Modern Orthodox service and a welcoming (albeit small) congregation.

We missed the opening hours of the synagogue being half an hour late, but since it was Friday afternoon, it was impossible to get in after it was closed. Still, the place itself looks quite nice from the outside. Next time, we should contact the synagogue in advance to make sure we know the visiting hours (probably restricted to prayer... More
