Frederiksberg Allé was originally intended to be the king's private road leading to his new summer residence, Frederiksberg Palace, but nowadays is associated with cultural life, especially theatres, but also upmarket cafes and boutiques. I particularly loved the Neo-Renaissance style buildings along this avenue and its nice and quiet atmosphere.

This is the most Paris boulevard feeling you get in Copenhagen - if that's what you are looking for. It's open space, broad street, unusually spacy sidewalks and a long stretch of linden trees all the way the Frederiksberg Gardens. I recommend a stroll all the way from Vesterbrogade around the Gardens and the castle before going back.

Frederiksberg Chokolade has beautiful wooden boxes they put your chocolates into and the little grocery store, Kwik Spar across the street carries coconut and almond milk.

I really enjoyed making Frederiksberg Allé a part of my morning runs. You can include Frederiksberg Have as part of the run. In the evening the Allé makes a great backdrop to have drinks at the numerous cafés and restaurants.

Frederiksburg Alle runs mainly through a residential area. It's mostly homes, but there are some small stores to check out on the ground level in some areas. It also is a nice walk, simply for ending on one side with the Frederiksburg Garden (and ice rink in winter). On the other side, is more commercial having Vaernedamsvej with cute shops... More

We love it here! This Alle has everything you need and has a lovely cinema just off it beside a gym. It has all the local grocery shops and also a supermarket around the corner. you can walk off it towards the Zoo or the Have and also in winter there is an open-air ice skating rink. It is also... Frederiksberg alle has 4 lines of trees and several cafes. Church special and skating in winter in front of Frederiksberg Garden, with channels and the chinese house in an island - not to see close - ZOO entrance possible from here through the Garden and out to Roskildevej with the beautiful Frederiksberg Castle. Peace and nice buildings with Paris look.... More

I good street to walk down to get to Frederiksberghavn. Not sure at all why it's on tripadvisor, as it is not a destination so much as a pathway to a destination. Has a nice wide boulevard, interesting architecture all around, but there's nice architecture all over Copenhagen.

Staying in Frederiksberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Frederiksberg
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.
